Cost to Catalyst

Cost to Catalyst brought senior leaders together for a timely executive roundtable examining the role of cyber security in enabling, rather than constraining, AI ambition.

The discussion surfaced several powerful observations, including the view that AI ambition is ultimately limited by the maturity of an organisation’s cyber security environment. Leaders also reflected on the growing complexity faced by larger enterprises, and the simple but critical truth that without trust, AI cannot scale.

With cyber security investment under increasing scrutiny, the session deliberately reframed the conversation. The focus shifted from cost justification to strategic impact, exploring what strong security foundations actually catalyse. Faster innovation, greater resilience, and the confidence to operate AI at scale.

A consistent theme emerged throughout the discussion. AI only becomes a genuine strategic asset when it is built on a secure, well governed foundation. When cyber security is treated as an enabler rather than an overhead, it unlocks executive confidence and supports sustainable growth. Without it, AI remains experimental. With it, AI becomes enterprise ready.

Senior executives spoke candidly about balancing innovation with risk, modernising security architectures, and embedding governance early so teams can move faster with clarity, assurance, and shared accountability.
